What should I wear for job shadowing at dentist?

In November, I am going for a job shadowing at the dentist office. I am going to my dentist to do the job shadowing and I have no idea what to wear!

Dress professional, like a dentist. My boyfriend often does the same. He wears slacks and a button down shirt, with loafers. For a girl, I'd wear a pencil skirt or wide-leg slacks and blouse with close-toed shoes.

You might have to wear uniforms like the dental staff does - scrubs. Otherwise, I would suggest dressing as professionally as possible. Jeans probably wouldn't be appropriate.

It also wouldn't hurt you to call and ask what might be expected of you. For instance, if you are familiar with the dental office, you'll know how they dress, but if you aren't familiar, I would suggest calling and asking. It will show that you care - not seem ignorant. I would think that if you were shadowing though, you wouldn't be expected to wear scrubs or anything.
