Question:

What should I wear to Sea World?

I'm going to Sea World on Saturday, and I don't know what I should wear. I want to wear capris, but I'm afraid I'll start to chafe. Then, I want to wear flip-flops, but I don't want to lose them on a ride. If I wear sneakers, they'll get super wet. Should I wear a bathing suit underneath? Help!

  1. As an avid Sea world goer (I live close by and have season passes) I've found that SHORTS are the way to go. if you think you might chafe, then put lotion on. Flip flops are great, as long as they're comfortable. You can take them off for Kraken and put them on the other side of the gate. For Atlantis, just wear them, you'll get wet, but there really isn't anywhere to stash them. You'll be doing a LOT of walking. Wear a tank top or tee-shirt, and don't forget sunscreen! A hat is also advisable, or glasses.

I recommend you try to see all the shows, they're amazing! And if you want to feed the dolphins, make sure that's the first place you go. They feed at 10am.

I love going to get pearls from the divers, its exciting every time, and its only 15 dollars and you get your own pearl!

The motion simulator is cool, and DEFINITELY check out the polar area (its where the motion simulator is) the polar bears might be awake, and the walrus' might be doing their "exercise" where they swim right up to the glass, do a back flip and go swim around. But as I said, try to see everything. You can go on their website and download a map, and show times to help plan your day better.

    Have fun!

  2. Just wear shorts or capris, t-shirt or tank top whichever you prefer, and the shoes depends on what you're doing there. If you're going to be sitting in the soak zone in shows then flip flops, but if you don't want to get super wet just wear sneakers, 'cause you don't get that wet in sea world. I've been there a million times.

  3. well, i would just go with whatever is comfortable, if you plan on walking around the parkk all day wear tennis shoes but bring flip flops if those get wet. or for the ride home, nothing feels better than taking those shoes off after a day of walking.  sunscreen is a must in san diego no matter what.  i wouldnt reccomend wearing a swim suit, its really not that wet, unless you are in the 'splash zone'.  if you are really nervous bring a change of clothes.  the rides, there was only one actual rollercoaster that i can remember (i was there a year ago) and you really didnt get that wet on it.

  4. sunscreen.

  5. You know, this is actually a very important question. I had a miserable time at Sea World wearing flip flops, not because they fell off, but because salt water got on my toes. They were constantly dry and they cracked and burned like crazy. I wouldn't worry about the capris because you don't want to wear anything too hot--you'll be in the sun most of the day--just wear sunscreen and lotion. But I would recommend something of the slip on variety for your feet that cover your toes. Not sneakers, I think they'll just make you hot and they're harder to slip back on if you want to take them off.

I wouldn't worry about wearing a bathing suit. You really don't get that wet unless you specifically sit in a splash zone. But bring sunscreen and a tube of lotion because the salt water and air will really do a number on your skin, especially around your finger and toe nails. Icky.

  6. Blue jeans, white socks, skechers sneakers, and a long sleeve rugby, they are great wet
