I hate being overdressed and I don't want to be too casual either, the dinner's not a very formal one (I think) but I would appreciate every suggestion that you have.

Thanks.

  1. wear like a casual outfit like if you were going to an office meeting...... even if you are over dressed who cares, as ling as you have a good time and also where you go depends to so ask your hubby!

  2. Wear the basic boring black dress. You can dress it up or down with jewelry. If the dinner is at a restaurant you could always call and ask about the mode of dress. I am sorry I can't tell you more a lot depends on the company he is employed with.

  3. All depends on his company.  You're going to have to get some guidance for him.

My husband works in executive management at a huge Japanese company.  I'm told that when we dine with his bosses, I should wear a dress or a suit.

I am an attorney in a large law firm.  We are "corporate casual" most of the time.  If we dine with my bosses, we would dress according to the venue.  I hve a black wrap knit dress that works for almost all venues (boots for a more casual place; pumps for a "businessy" type affair; sandals for dressy).

  4. My mother had a rule: it is always better to be overdressed than under-dressed.  It is soooooooo true.  It is always better to show up looking polished and well dressed than to show up too casual.

Check your closet for something classic but not overdone.

I will always choose a dress before slacks.  Being feminine is a wonderful thing.

Modest jewelry and no outrageous 6" heels ( save those for the club ).  You'll be fine   :)

  5. I would wear slacks and a nice shirt but not a too dressy one. You will be fine with what ever you decide to wear. Good luck and have a nice dinner.  :)
