  1. I went to the Phantom of the Opera not too long ago. I wore a nice button down shirt and nice jeans. People wear all different clothing to the show. Some wear skirts and dresses while others wear pants.

  2. Phantom of the Opera is a play not an opera,  you should dress business casual, it really depends on where you are seeing it.  On Broadway most people dress up and make a whole night of it with dinner in a great restaurant so jackets for guys, gowns for women,  the actual opera is a formal event tuxedos for guys, evening dresses for women.

  3. These days, it's come as you are -- especially in the summer.  You would only dress to the hilt if it were an opening.  This vehicle has been open for years.

Just be comfortable -- unless of course it is a charity gala.

  4. When I went to see Phantom of the Opera I wore a simple black dress.  You should definitely dress "up" for the opera; however, you can wear black slacks or a skirt and a nice top or something similar to that.  I would avoid wearing jeans or casual flip flops.

Have fun getting dressed up and enjoy the show.. it is AMAZING! :)

  5. If it's a matinee, you could get away with business casual (slacks or skirt, nice top, flats/heels).

If it's in the evening, dress up. Skirt with a nice top or a dress, flats or heels.

  6. depends on where you are sitting.  But most people like to dress up when going to the theater.  I would recommend something nice.

  7. Well, when I went to see it (It's AMAZING by the way!) I wore a semi-casual out fit. Black skirt with a black dressy top. Some people wore full-on prom dresses! They looked ridiculous as did the people in jeans. I'd recommend semi-casual dress. Black is good because it's classic.

  8. Suit or nice dress up shirt and black pants if you're a guy and if you're a lady I'd wear a nice dress, doesn't have to be anything super fancy but definitely something that you would wear to a dress up occasion.

  9. fyi phantom of the opera is a MUSICAL, not an opera, they're totally different. the dress code is way different too.

Just wear nice clothes- dress slacks and a nice shirt would be appropriate. definetly NO tee shirts.

a dress or skirt would be nice. it's not that formal, like I said, good khaki pants and a nice shirt.. button-up would be great!

  10. something classy.,,a suit for a dude, and a nice elegant dress for a woman.

  11. I am involved in theater, and have gone to many plays so this is my general rule:

Don't be wayyyyyyyy over-dressed, but not underdressed either. It's better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.

If you're a guy, I'd wear a nice dress shirt, but not a tie because it could be too formal, and nice pants.

Girl, I would wear heels and a nice-looking dress, not too-dressy (definitely don't want to go prom!!) and you can dress it up a little more with a necklace or bracelet.

  12. a nice suit is perfect but nice shoes  nice jeans no ripped stuff and a blazer of suit top works fine. if you are going to impress a girl then i suggest you take this opportunity and show your good taste and wear a nice black suit black shirt or dark shirt and no tie. make sure do do not appear with out a rose it will go with the theme of the Play. that Play is amazing so get ready for a treat. if you appreciate theater. but the music is great also.

i hope this helps. sorry i assume you are a guy if you are a girl then i have no clue..

  13. A stylish but tasteful black dress with pearl accessories.

Skin tone or black heels and a clutch handbag to match the dress.

  14. clothes... nude opera doesn't go over well. ;)

  15. If it is during the day, i would wear something nice, but nothing too dressy, such as a skirt and blouse

if it is at night, i would suggest a simple black dress, played up by silver or gold accessories like bracelets/earrings/necklaces

  16. Phantom of the Opera is a musical not an opera.

That said, you can't go wrong with slacks, a button-down shirt and if you want to spruce it up a bit, a blazer over that. (no need for a tie)

Where you live has a lot of influence on how most people will dress, for instance, here in New York City most New Yorkers do not dress up to go to musicals (sweater and pants is enough... stylish of course being that we're New Yorkers)  but in Atlanta almost everyone does.

    Hope that helps!

  17. I would say clothes most definately.

But seriously--is it an off-broadway production? If so where whatever. But if its a huge production like a broadway show or whatever is consdier big in your area--You should wear an evening gown. Most people dress very formally when going to an opera.

  18. Wear either dress pants and a nice formal top if its like a spagetti top wear something over it

or a dress shouldnt be too formal like a long dress instead wear after almost at the knee dress almost like for homecoming.
