My friend is getting married in October and he just sent me the RSVP letter. I already know who I am taking....my boyfriend..... but what should I wear? My friend is younger than me I would say maybe 18 or 19 so I figure there will be a lot of young people there. I just don't know what to wear. They are getting married at the Crown Plaza Hotel. I don't want to be over/under dressed. Ive only been to one wedding before & I was young so I don't really remember.

  1. I like the black dress idea.  Navy in October would be great too.  Probably wouldn't do any pastel colors.  Something simple and still leaves room for the imagination would be fine.  Start shopping around and you'll know it when you see it!

  2. A simple cocktail dress in black (appropriate for an evening wedding) or a rich fall color would be a good option, and is something you can wear again in the future. Go for classy, not super-s**y. For example, I love these:

You should be able to find similar but less pricey options at any department story.

  3. Just wear a nice dress.  Remember, guests aren't the center of attention, the bride is.  Have a great time!

  4. You do dot say how old YOU are but

Anything classic you can dress up or down with jewelery or accessories, if you do not like Black - I don't for weddings - try dark green, burgundy, brown, navy, or in the lighter shades tan, junior navy, dark pink.

Is there a dress code on the invitation? casual? semi formal? formal?

Casual is what ever you would wear to a dinner party - for late afternoon & nighttime or to church for a daytime / casual dress

Semi formal/ formal is Cocktail length for morning / afternoon weddings and long for night weddings

  5. Better to be overdressed than under dressed.

You can get  by with a little more than someone older.

Nothing too short, no b***s out, if the dress is bare keep covered during the ceremony.  Go for classy rather than s**y.  Limit your jewelry.

Since it isn't 'black-tie' you can go with either a short or long dress

  6. The little black cocktail dress is really a wonderful option.  It's classic and youthful.  You'll be sophisticated and s**y, not childlike or too trendy.

  7. here is what is appropriate. I like to be different from others when i go to things like this..if you wear what everyone is wearing then its no fun.
