What should I wear to watch golf?

I am taking some clients to watch the Open Golf tomorrow. What should I wear? I am a guy aged 28.

Golf shirt and pants, just like your going to play golf.

If you're going to be in the elements, dress accordingly.  A jacket, hat, umbrella are all good ideas (the umbrella if there's even a hint of a chance of rain).

Pants...a pair of chinos or jeans will work if you're going to be outdoors...if you've got some kind of setup in a VIP area, I'd probably not do the jeans.  

Shoes...if it's going to be wet and you're going to be in the elements think weather.  Much of the areas you'll be walking have been walked on, so the grass will be worn down; possibly slippery and muddy.

Jacket...if you have something that can handle wind and water, that's your option.  

Generally...think layers.  

Have a good time; should be fun to watch.

golf shirt with a collar.  Unsure of what constitutes acceptable clothing for a game of golf? Sticking to name brand golf wear is a very safe bet.

Pants and/or shorts should have belt loops, but no cuffs since they trap dirt

Wear a leather belt. The belts that Tiger wears, with a silver tip, are stylish.



Golf clothes are often bright and colorful, but you don’t need to wear all the colors at the same time! Colors are like kids and employees. Some work together, and get along just fine; others always fight. Choose one bright color and pair with neutrals (tan, black, white).



Hats are a good idea. They help keep the sun off your face, and may improve your vision. Either baseball style or straw golf hats are appropriate.
