I had my final interview on Friday, its Wednesday now. I think I'm going to send a email tomorrow.

What should I write that won't sound too desperate or over confident?

  1. Dear ----,

Thank you for taking the time to interview with me.

I am excited about the prospect of working for ____.

I think I will be a good fit with the company as I am a team player. I will work with the staff to assure the best interests of the company and it's clients. I am honest and hard working.

Should you consider me for the position, I will not let you down.

    Sincerely,

    Your name

  2. Write something smart that builds on something you talked about in the interview. Lets say that in response to a question about punctuality, you had an interesting little discussion about the connection between being on time & being productive. Go out and find a good article on MSNBC, for example, and send it to the interviewer. In addition to thanking them & reiterating your interest, make a comment like "the attached article reminded me of your comments about punctuality and productivity." This shows a lot of good things: you remember highlights of the interview, you've given them additional thought, and you add value. Good luck!

  3. Use the letter as an opportunity to refresh the interviewer's memory as to why you are a good fit and restate your interest in the position.

    You'll find a sample letter here: http://thejoblab.com/followup.htm

    Best of luck!
