What should a baby wear after christening..?

my son is getting baptised in a catholic church today. afterwards we're going to a nice restaurant with family and friends. is it okay to change him out of his christening outfit? and if so.. what is an appropriate outfit/ colors? can he wear plaid shorts with a brown polo or just a plain white onesie? or should he wear pj's.... ?

My priest (Catholic) encouraged us parents to keep our babies in their baptismal gowns after the ceremony to signal their new identity (or something like that?!).

Well, I know each religion has its own thing but when my kids were baptised, they were'nt even required to wear the white christening outfits.... So with that being said, I would say its ok to change him into to whatever you want him in.

AWWWWWWWWW congrats what a special occasion... id put him in some little pants and top... it wouldnt really matter ...hes cute anyway but maybe if you had some cute shorts and button shirt ( big boy gear) so he looks smartly !!

I would never suggest white with children at all...heheh it never stays that way...i want pictures too!!!

Congratulations.  I became a god mommy last year and I purchased the christening outfit and 2 onesie for him to change into at the restaurant I am sure no baby wants to stay in that outfit longer than necessary.  I think anything you put on your baby is appropriate after all this affair is something important to adults not babies.

We changed our baby into something nice, there will still be plenty of photos taken, so PJ's are not the best look for this important day.

Anything that is comfortable for him and something you like. You have done the church thing already, now relax.  He dosn't care as long as he is comfy.
