  1. Hello James H,

Sounds like your diet is pretty good to me :)

Do you like salads? Those are also good. And I heard peanut butter has lots of protein, so I guess thats good too. Maybe some granola bars (not daily but maybe sometimes after dinner or lunch as a snack)

Also try to drink a V8 if you like it :) thats also really good for you!

    Well I hope I helped :)

    Go vegetarians!

  2. fruit and veges

  3. Vegetarian? Vegetables perhaps.

  4. May I suggest that you...

Replace the milk with an organic nut milk, or maybe organic rice milk. It's better than that homogenized, pasteurized bloody cow pus that vegetarians can't seem to let go of. The same goes for "pus cream" and "yogpus." I don't care if I get thumbs down for this, you vegetarians are too weak to give up dairy.

Also, I'm not certain what you mean by "serving of vegetables" ... Many vegans make the error of eating faux meat, faux cheese without a care about REAL FOOD... RAW, LIVING SALADS. Raw vegetables, leafy greans, sea vegetables will impart great strength and nourishment. Nothing is better for the system.

Also, if you can get ahold of it, try Tempeh for a change. It's actually less processed than Tofu, and just as versatile.

  5. Sounds pretty good. Find a chart on the internet that spells out your daily need for protein.

Lots of leafy green vegetables and veggies of "color"- red, green, orange, purple. Frozen veggies are just as good nutritionally as fresh, and Last longer!

Since you are not a vegan, you don;'t need B-12, but a quality vitamin and amino acid supplement can ease your mind.

You've done your homework and done well. Wish more folks were like you!

  6. its important, since your not eating meat, that you get enough protein in your diet

sounds like your doing fine with the yogurt, eggs, and tofu dishes your eating

  7. veggies

  8. Good rule of thumb:

Every Meal:  Whole grains, fruits and vegetables, legumes.

(These together provide adequate complex carbohydrates and a full range of essential amino acids, which provide a complete protein).  Try not to get in a rut; by trying new things and keeping a variety of foods in your diet, you won't miss out on any nutrients.  One glass of water at each meal (one in between as well if you only have 3 meals a day)

Once per day:  One soy item or fake meat.

Dairy or Eggs once per day, if you eat them (if not, one serving of nuts for the Omega-3/6 acids and one serving of green leafy vegetables for calcium).  15 minutes of sunshine without sunblock if you don't eat dairy (sunlight causes the skin to produce vitamin D)

Once per week: Sweets--Ice cream (soy or dairy), cake, pie, you get the idea.  (Try dried fruit during the rest of the week as a dessert).  A B-12 supplement (I take 1000 mcg).

A helpful idea is to keep an online food log so you can check every so often to see if you are low on any nutrients

  9. Sounds fine to me.

You'll be getting adequate protein from

    -Tofu

    -Eggs

    -and the dairy products.

    So no worries there.

At the bottom of this link there's a Balance of Good Health Chart:

    http://www.vegsoc.org/news/2001/nvw/eati...

Try to incorporate into your daily diet:

*5 portions of fruit and vegetables.

    *eat a portion of nuts/seeds

*start the day with a breakfast cereal

*have several reliable sources of protein, such as dairy, beans, nuts, tofu, etc.

  10. Fruits : apple, banana , graps

    Dry friuts Nuts

    yogurt

    Vegitable

    Ice cream

  11. Make sure to get rice and beans in your diet, if you can.  I'm pretty sure that the combination of those two things contain all the essential amino acids (which are important to focus on if you're not eating meat).

Eat a few servings of vegetables a day, more carbohydrates (whole grains if you're focused on good health) and eat nuts/eggs for protein.

Vary up your forms of fruit/dairy/etc. as well.  You'll be healthier if you're not eating the same foods and getting the same vitamins/nutrients each day.
