What should an American give a Dutch for Christmas?

My family is having a couple visit us from Holland over Christmas time. We are going to show them a true American Christmas and our traditions as a family. We are in need of figuring out what type of gifts we should get them... We want to get something that will remind them of Florida (that is where we are from) but not touristy .... :) Any ideas would be great! Thank you so much!

  1. I think a really nice snow globe (not a cheap plastic one) would be nice.  something with palm trees and sand.

  2. Something from Disney, or something to do with palm trees and flamingoes.

  3. A pair of clogs with novelty laces lol

  4. Florida has wine? Fine cheeses?

    Book about Florida?

    T-shirt?

  5. A really pretty sea shell, filled with beer.

  6. How about filling stockings with some typical American products, goodies, and things to use, like I'd put a towel with a map of Florida on it,  a homemade CD of your favorite songs, some of your favorite candies, some Florida socks, a bottle of natural lotion, like from Whole Foods, a jar of Florida jelly, like key lime jelly,  a nice map of your city or state, a souvenir t-shirt, silk shorts with sports logos,  a jar of marshmallow creme, a souvenir keychain, a cap, a cup.

  7. Dutch are not barbarians. Make dinners special, and serve decent California wine. Go heavy on fresh vegetables, fruit, and citrus; especially the stuff that's out of season there.

Tell NASA to do a launch while they're here...and have a blast...

  8. the dutch are not big gift givers and are modest about receiving so don't sweat over this.  anything that you feel might help to represent florida and their visit with you will work fine.  Making something with your own hands would be very welcome and/or something small like T shirts or a book about your area or american Christmas traditions would be very appreciated. As a rule they don't do anything on Christmas Eve but have their celebration on the day so doing something on the Eve will be a treat for them as well (if that is your tradition).
