Me nor my husband nor our two small children (ages one and two) have ever been on a trip. We are staying overnight at a hotel tommorow night and then going to the zoo the next. Day, I am absolutely exstatic. For any of you moms that travel alot, can you please tell me what my packing checklist should look like? Thanks for your time!

  1. well this is what me and my mom (packing fanatics) usually put on for an over night:

toothbrushes, toothepaste, stuffies or blankets, jackets, umbrella, raincoats, extra socks/undergarments, change of clothes, hats, sunscreen, makeup. etc.

go through what you do at home and put all the materials you use on the list.

  2. Being a mother of 7 I should know this.  PJ's, 3 sets of clothing for your 2 yr old and 4 for your 1 yr old plus 1 new pack of diapers.  Plenty of snacks for the road and alot of water.  This list is big but if its your first trip you'll learn.  Take a notebook and pen handy so that when you find yourself needing something you did not bring, write it down for your next trip.  Hope this helps.  Have fun!

  3. Wowie...k here we go.

    -LOTS of diapers

-LOTS of changes of clothes for the babes

    -LOTS of wipes

    -bottles (if you use them)

-whatever else goes with the bottles (liners, food etc..)

-a hat or each of the babes

    -sunblock

-water bottles or money for water (hydration is super important)

    -bandaids (just in case)

    -polysporin (        "         )

-nail clippers (I like to have them just in case as well)

    -floss

    -rash cream

    -camera

-shoes (to be able to switch from sandals...sometimes you need to for your poor feets sake)

    -socks

    -sunglasses

-cooler? (in case you want to bring your own food and drinks to the zoo)

  6. Just use common sense! Trust me you know what to do! But before going to bed the night before make sure that you double and triple check your things, Don't forget things like medical cards and medication. And remember to properly secure you home and any secondary properties at your residence. Have a safe trip! Also one last tip, I try to dress my kids in one common color, they are easier to keep an eye on- and people always think it is so cute!!

  7. I think you should try not to over do it when you are packing. You have to bring the essentials like clothes and diapers. You should also bring a couple of things that will make your children feel more comfortable in the hotel room like a blanket or toy from home. you should also bring plenty of snacks. Extra outfits are also a good idea.

  8. Divide it up by sections.  Toiletries, daytime clothes, PJ's, etc.
