Right now and I think for the next few decades (lol) the biggest revenue maker is our export of Filipino talent abroad. Then call centers grew like mushrooms in our country. You can thank our command of the English language for that too. Need I say more?**

IMO it should depend on the subject. As the others have said, some subjects are better taught in English, while some in Filipino. I can't imagine learning Math in Filipino. "Ang isa kapag dinagdagan ng isa ay dalawa." And that's just very basic. What if we tackle subjects like Calculus? How in the world would you translate "derivative of a with respect to b"?

I very much agree with the answerer above me. There are subjects like Math, Science, T.H.E. (Technology and Home Economics), etc. that are better be taught in English, and subjects like Araling Panlipunan and Filipino (duh) be taught in the Filipino language...

But anyway, I prefer books in English... for me they're easier to understand :)

Both.

English for

- Math because there are certain terms that have no equivalent Filipino words i.e. square root.

- Science.  How are we supposed to say chlorophyll, symbiosis, cumulus clouds etc. in Filipino?

And Filipino for such subjects as Araling Panlipunan, Sibika at Kultura etc.

We may opt too to give students the freedom to choose the medium of instruction in the subjects that they are taking, like what UP offers.  Please see below for examples:

- Humanities or Humanidades

- History or Kasaysayan
