What should fashion designers be like?

What do you think a fashion designer should appear like? fashionable themselves? business-like? what are good A levels to become a fashion designer? what personality traits do you think are essential? thank for your help.

as for looks... they vary.

i mean... EVERY designer is different,

and their style is fashionable, but often different.

personality traits that are necessary are determination, creativity, and the ability to handle criticism.

youll find that alot of times designers dress pretty strangely. Sometimes they are so UNFASHIONABLE you would never tell they design clothes.

As someone once put it to me: You have to decide. Are you the designer or the model?

Me, Im the designer :)

As for personality traits, well, creativity. They are eccentric, but of course, that comes with any artistic field. They have to be self motivated and adaptable. Imaginative, and persistent. There is a lot that goes into a designers personality, but of course, these are all generalizations.
