  1. Work the security at Wal-Mart.

  2. How about just enjoying time with your family.

  3. Believe it or not, a lot of uniformed officers join criminal defence solicitors' firms in the UK usually to represent clients in police station interviews and sit behind counsel at the Crown Court.

  4. Well, perhaps consider the field of private investigations. Depending on where you go with your law enforcement career, you will definately have the foundation for making a good P.I. There are numerous specialties in this field and you can continue to investigate the types of things you enjoy investigating while making a pretty good living. I am currently an insurance investigator and specialize in surveillance, background investigations, witness and fugitive locates, interviewing and obtaining witness statements....both recorded and written. I stay busy and the money ain't too bad. Those are just some of the fields you could work in though. it is an itneresting field and never a dull moment.

  5. You might want to consider being an investigator.  Our investigator is a retired highway patrolman.  He sets his own hours and works on his farm when not working for the DA.  Doing this gives him freedom to pretty much do as he pleases yet is always available when we need him.  He loves it!

  6. How about going back to school and being a lawyer.  I'm thinking prosecution side of the house, but how crazy would it be to be a defense lawyer!
