  1. My rabbit got too fat because I fed her twice a day but I suppose it depends on the type of food. Maybe you could give her hay instead of one of the meals? Up to you hun. x

  2. the only things a rabbit really needs is pellets. Then from there timothy hay is nice to give on occasion. Everything else is a treat, and does not have to be given. It's ok to feed her those things, but i would rarely do the grapes and strawberries, as they might give her diarrhea. Lettuce CAN be given on occasion. The only kind of lettuce that is bad is iceberg lettuce, it will give your rabbit diarrhea and may cause it to die. If you have any other questions email me.

  3. Stick with what you are doing, as long as her droppings are normal (not too soft) then she is fine. Grapes and strawberries are not such a good idea, grapes are too watery and can cause diarrhoea, and strawberries are high in natural sugars.

The veg you can give is cabbage, carrots and brocolli. You can give some kale as well, and spring greens. Dont worry too much though, as long as she has plenty of hay, fresh veg, water, pellets and exercise, thats all they really need apart from a clean cage and a lot of love!!

  4. It sounds like it is a good diet.  As long as her poo is round balls and not sloppy it should mean what you are feeding her is okay.  For a complete list of what yu can feed your rabbit as well as other useful info go to this website

  5. get some cabbage or lettuce, great food for them, even celery

  6. I've had 23 rabbits and I always gave them veggies, they love them and they're not bad for them. I just gave them their regular pellets/rabbit food and a little paper plate with veggies and fruits.

Lots of hey is very good for rabbits so continue doing that.

If she is loving her life then enjoy her and keep doing what you're doing.

  7. Stick to pellets and veg with small protions of fruit a few times a week.

see my site for a guide on the animal feeding page

Rabbits are herbivores and need a good diet of hay on large quantities and a good veg mix daily.

I feed a portion of pellets in the morning and a good selection of fresh food in the evening every day

your rabbit should get at least 5 hours exercise  day to maintain a healthy body and muscles.

  8. what your feeding her is right! they do love fresh fruit and veg so carry on giving that to her but she doesnt need that for her full meal, they need the bagged stuff as they are designed to have all the things they need in it!

  9. never feed her cabbage, kale, lettuce, kohlrabi, brussels sprouts, cauliflower or broccoli. they can cause eneritis and possibly die. but feed her all the veges she wants the more the better!

  10. You should give your bunny vegetables every day as a morning meal, plenty of hay and a good rabbit pellet to prevent her selectively eating certain foods.

Rabbits need a high amount of fibre in their diet from vegetables and hay everyday. This keeps both their digestive system and teeth in good condition. Make sure your rabbit has plenty of fresh water as eating hay tends to make mine very thirsty.

  11. unlimited tomothy hay is the most important part of the diet.

followed by 2-4 cups of veggies per day, at least three different kinds a day.

*kale, cabbage and broccoli can cause gas in bunnies and should not be fed more than a couple times a week in a limited amount*

no more than 1/4 cup of pellets per day per five pounds of bunny.  no colored cereal bits or seeds!  this is JUNK FOOD and should be avoided.  make sure the pellets are timothy hay based (timothy should be the first ingredient on the back).

fruit should not be fed more than 3x a week, and a very tiny amount, no more than 2-3 teaspoons.  it is too high in sugar and can cause runny p**p.  your rabbit should not have more than ONE baby carrot PER WEEK, divided into 3 separate days.
