  1. It will depend on the size you desire because the Ford Explorer is actually smaller than the Tahoe and Yukon. To help you in that regard, if you are looking for nice room in the garage then the Explorer would be better. If you want your occupants to stretch out a little more the Tahoe and Yukon will provide them with more space.

As you probably know the Tahoe is the same body/frame/powertrain as the Yukon. The difference is that the Yukon will usually have more luxury appointments as standard equipment or have more options than the Tahoe. And don't believe anyone telling you that GMC is "Professional Grade." That's just marketing b.s. and fools eat that c**p up. It is the SAME quality as the Tahoe.

Now that brings me to this subject:  Your very question will undoubtedly bring up a load of "Ford stinks," "Chevy's like a rock!," "Explorers are the best" answers.  That's is all balogney!  These three vehicles are EQUAL in quality. Yes, I know that some people have been let down by a particular model at one time, or know someone who has a friend, etc.,etc.  I have sold these vehicles for years; I have worked on them from time to time; I know others who have owned this and that.  They're all pretty good vehicles.  I have a '96 Explorer, had since new, with over 205,000 miles on it with no major problems; but I would say you can get the same out of the other two as well.

So, test drive 'em all and get whatever suits you best personally.

  2. I would say a Tahoe.

My mother-in-law had a 2004 Ford Explorer and it was NOTHING but problems. The transmission went out of it, the paint was coming off, etc, plus it was an uncomfortable ride in the backseat. They traded for a Ford Edge. It is N-I-C-E!

I have been in a Tahoe and they are pretty comfortable and i know someone who has one and he doesn't have many problems with it.

  3. Being a Car dealer, in my opinion I would choose the ford explorer. I have had less problems with the explorer compared to any chevy products. I sell all types of vehicles and pick them up all over the country.  The explorer is better on gas than the tahoe or yukon. I find the ride to be more stable on the ford than the gm products. As far as repairs, we have found that the parts for the ford are less expensive and are generally interchangeable. Now this is coming from someone who is a die hard chrysler person.

  4. The Yukon GMC because that is the most compilable suburban ive ever rode in and there is tones of fancy fetchers especially if you get the Yukon Denali

  5. The Yukon and the Tahoe are practically the same car, so there no sense choosing between them. I stay far far away from Ford. I've rented a Tahoe before, the ride, interior and overall quality are a step above the Explorer's.
