  1. if you watch want to watch movies in hd you should get 80 as 40 wont play blue ray and is compatible with less video codecs such as xvid. also if you want to store music and video on your ps3 you will want the extra room

  2. If you don't care for PS2 games - get new "core" 80GB (coming out on 27.08.08). It's the same 40GB, sold for the same price, but it has 80GB HDD instead of 40GB.

  3. 40gb--Has 2 usb ports, Wi-fi, Chrome trim, No Flash card readers, No SACD support, No backwards compatibility..

80gb--4 usb ports,wi-fi, It have Flash card readers, has Chrome trim, have SACD support, and it have backwards compatibility..

80gb CORE--2usb ports, wi-fi, No flash card readers, has a chrome trim, No SACD support, and no backwards compatibility.. So basically its just a 40gb,just with 80gb hard drive space..

Well you decide..which one do you want..I think you should get the 80gb Core, its coming soon, wait for it..Goodluck

  4. If you don't mind the lesser storage space, go with the 40g. The only reason why i wish i got the 80g was backward compatible with ps2 games.

  5. depends what you like would you like 4 usb connectors instead of 2 would you like place where you can stick you memory cards in??? if you do then get a 80gb
