Find out what TV show/movie/famous person she REALLY likes and make a little notebook filled with pictures and quotes, using your best pennmanship and make it reall sincere.

If you know her favorite store, a giftcard can be good, but is more impersonal than some other gifts.  Think about your last couple conversations; has she mentioned a new CD coming out?  Something she wishes her parents / boyfriend would buy her?  That should give you a start!
