Question:

What should i do about cutting?

i was a cutter for about 3 years... i would stop for a few weeks and than go back to the same old habbit its been two months since ive cut myself but will my habbits come back to hunt me and ill end up cutting agian? honstly i miss doing it but it's for my own good

  3. I think you will outgrow it. See if you can find a substitute coping skill that is not damaging to you. Plus see your doctor. Best wishes to you...I know things will get better for you.

I have a similar problem.  I've had a form of OCD since I was a little girl.  Get help with a therapist.  You may need antidepressants to help the problem, but getting therapy is the best thing to help you with this.  There could be local support groups to help you get through it too.  You are obviously getting some sort of "release" from your pain when you cut.

  5. hey i am a severe cutter...i've been doing it for 6 years...and i do it to the point where i have almost loss the use of my arm b/c of nerve damage...i cut very deep and need stitches every time...i used to not do it deep when i started...then i got addicted to it...and i had to keep going deeper...u need to stop this...and go see a therapist...and if u get urges really bad check urself in for a week...seriously do waht ever it takes to keep urself safe...the hardest person to protect urself from is urself..

  6. i have been cutting for about 4 months. yesterday i cut the word die on my leg. i dont know y but i like to see the blood and stare at it after i cut. i also cut on my arm but i cant do that anymore or ill have to many cuts on my arm and ppl will be suspicious. do u know how long it takes for the cuts to fade and go away, i dont cut deeply just enough to bleed. also when u cut what emotion do u feel b4 u cut. i generally feel really down and upset at myself for various reasons such as i hate myself and y did i let myself become the miserable person i am today when i see all of the other normal and happy kids and i want to just be like them nit this dark unemotional and apathetic being.

  7. talk to a dr. and get put on meds if you get the urge again. because when you grow out of the habit, and you have scars, what are you gonna tell your future children? grandchildren? find a way to relieve stress, anger, and hurt that wont leave you remembering it for the rest of your life.
