so i just got my rook piercing done yesterday. everything is fine as well as pain and redness, etc....but the only thing is....the jewelry sucks! okay, so i went to one of my local piercing parlors with my friend, and the guy there didnt even let me pick out my jewelry, he said 'well just go with a standard curved barbell' which was fine. the only thing is that its wayyy too long! i have kinda flappy ears, and the fold on top of my ear is kinda long and big. anyways, the bar is sooo long that the bottom of the bar is behind the fold on top of my ear....if that makes sense. and so you can only see the top part of it! i really want to change it! but he said i have to wait 4-6 months! but whats the point of getting a piercing you you cant even see it...sorry i dont have a picture, but i made one on paint lol....just to give you an idea.....

  1. The reason they give you a long bar is for swelling and such, and they tell you not to change it because its not fully healed yet, and could cause an infection, and you might not want to deal with the pain of inserting a new one yourself. When i got my tongue pierced, it was a super long bar, and i thought wtf lady. but when i woek up the next day, my tongue was so huge that you could only see the balls on the ends! i would suggest waiting at least a week or two, and if the pain is gone for the most part, go to a different parlour and tell them you want a different ring, and the date on when you got it pierced. dont take it out though! you'll be ruining a gorgeous art
