I went into the water with the camera in it's case in my pocket but i fell a little and some water got in the bag and even in teh camera. At first, it didn't work at all and then i let it dry and used teh blow dryer for a while and it kept getting better and better. Now, everything works (i don't know if it's at its best) but teh screen is totally messed up. I can see everything in the screen but there are black lines. I'm going to continue letting it dry but i don't think teh lines will go away. It's under warranty. Is it fixable? It is Nikon. What should i do?

  1. Could be some water still left over that makes the screen look that way. Let it fully dry twenty four hours. If it's still there, take it to the repair shop.

  2. remove lens batteries and any accessories and let it dry out for up to 3 days then replace the batteries and try to turn it on if it don't turn on take it to a shop and get an estimate most times its cheaper to buy a new one good luck

  3. The best thing you COULD have done is just let it sit for a couple of weeks, change it's position every once in a while. But this, this sounds like a symptom of heat damage. What happens is the heat penetrates the silicon in the microprocessors on a microscopic scale, this will cause inadequate transfer of data or loss of data (in this case, lines of resolution) which can not be repaired, unless done professionally, which might cost more than just buying a new camera. If water were the case, you wouldn't see black lines, but little black dots all over the screen due to loss of pixelation. Hopefully, the heat never manage to cause this much damage and this is just a "phase," which is possible, either way, Good Luck.
