What should i do about my canon zr830 camcorder? no mic input!!?

SO like 5 months ago i bought a zr830 from costo and recently just bought a mic off amazon. When i mic cam i noticed it didnt work and i thought the av plug would wourk with my mic. So i really dont know what 2 do now. Costco wont return the camcorder cause it been too late. Is there any way to have like an external recorder i can plug my mic into and then sync it with my video onto the computer?? or any tricks i can do to make costco return it?????

Unless Costco sold you the camcorder on the understanding that it had a microphone input there's no reason why they should take it back.  And it took you five months to notice...?  I wouldn't give a refund!

There's nothing stopping you using an external recorder, though.  You could try experimenting with an MP3 player if you've got one that can record (I think some of the iriver players can use an external mic) - just make sure you do something to make the synching easier e.g. clapping your hands (on camera, of course).

canon zr830 doesn't have a port for external mic. Try audacity
