Question:

What should i do about my falling off toenail?

I run cross country, and around the second week of practice, when our mileage was significantly upped, my toenail next to my big toe started to hurt. It went away a week or two later, but now i find it's near falling off. Its only attached by the bottom, by the cuticle. It doesn't hurt, and when i look underneath the nail there is gushy stuff on the bottom of it.

WHAT DO I DO?

  1. I have had toe problems in my past as well so I will be able to help you. I really suggest seeing a doctor that specializes in caring of the feet. Even though it is just hanging by the edge I would try to avoid touching it and resist the temptation to yank it off. There is a chance that this could cause you to bleed very badly. The doctor can easily remove it for you with special sterile equipment meant for this purpose. The doctor can also help you to get your toe back to normal. Sure, they cannot make it magically grow back but they can give you band aides that would be perfect for your foot as well as make suggestions about your physical activities and when to limit them. Good luck.

  2. i would just pull it off

once u pull it off you should either cover it with a band-aid or put superglue over it ot protect it
