okay i have been playing sofbtball since 2nd grade and its basically been kinda an expectation...

but back then it used to be fun and exciting and really non pressure and thats why i loved it

but last season i played for this upper league and i started to see the fun getting sucked out of it

and im like oh okay...thats alright i guess. but now i am doing a camp for my highschool, which is like a softball summer league thing, and its 4 days a week 3 hours a day. so im pretty tired and im questioning whether i can handle it anymore. cuz i know it gets more tiring than THAT

and its getting more competitive and i dont enjoy it anymore. it seems like a chore to me. yet if i make the team this season i get out of regular PE which is a lifesaver. i told my parents and they are really upset with me for wanting to give it up in highschool.

bottom line: sofbtall isnt enjoyable for me anymore and i dont wanna continue something i dont like. but parents will get mad and i hate PE. help!! :[

  1. I would try softball just for that season. That way, if they work you way too hard, then you wont have to do it next year. Then, you get out of PE, and you make your parents happy. if you decide you really HATE it, then don't do it anymore. You know what i mean?

  2. Stick with it I played softball all my life too up until I graduated from high school. Five years later I miss softball so much now that it is over. Believe me you will regret it when you are older.

  3. Go back to playing house league. I know lots of people who love to play sports but don't enjoy the super competitive leagues because it's too intense. You should be playing a sport to make yourself happy and not to make your parents happy. If you just quit you will miss it in a few years I can guarantee that. Stick with it, but do what you want to do, not what your parents want.

  4. i play softball too, and i find if im not feeling the sport, not having fun, not wanting to slide into home plate and jsut dont care if our team wins or loses, softball is definately a drag. not to mention your performance goes down as well. the best thing would have been to have a break this summer from it. i mean i live in a place where we get cold winters, so i dont play all winter and i miss it. so come summer im feeling it. tell your parents its just not what you want to do anymore, and maybe if you take a break from it, you'll miss and want to play it again.

  5. heyy gurl.

i feel bad ur stressed out like this and i know wat ur going through. same thing is excepted of me and i play basketball, and i dont like it bc its so serious and not fun anymore, so i totally understand. but wat i would suggest is that you think it out real good and then decide if its something u really want to do, if its not, than explain to ur parents that u just want to take a break from softball for a little while and you hope they understand. if they are still mad about it after you tell them, then let them think it over too and im sure they will understand.

you shouldnt have to do some thing that you really dont want to do.

    hope it works!

    good luck babe!
