  1. just have alot of fun as memories cant be bought you have to have them so take a camera to get it all.

  2. What you should not do is: not worry about what not to do.  I run a horse stable on 1,000 acres with 80 head in South Florida and have been riding since I could walk.  I am a trail guide there and take first timers and inexperienced people out all the time.  Just relax and be sure to point your toes up.

  3. Everyone else covered it basically, but i just wanted to add that when you tell a horse to go you dont kick off the bat. You put your reins forward, if they dont go then you squeeze with your legs, then if they still dont go then you can kick. Just a common misconception. Other than that little tid bit you should be good. You probably wont have to worry about any of that though because trail horses are trained to follow other trail horses and they will be very good to you! OH! and dont hang on to the saddle horn! Lol! Idk why people think it's there for that! Just relax. Horses can sense if your tense or scared or something so just worry about having fun and you'll do great! Plus, you'll probably have a guide that will work with you so you'll be all set! :)

  4. Sorry I haven't been there. However I have been horseback riding a lot in my life. Don't show any fear, horses can sense that. Also at first ride your horse slowly then you can make him/her pick up the speed. There is  nothing really to be afraid of, just make sure that you wear a helmet and be safe and also have fun!

    XOXO, Meeesh

  5. NEVER scream ever, under any circumstances.

don't pull too hard, they are letting u sit on them.

    yeh well yeh lol bye

  6. yes, and DONT yank the horses mouth!!! The bit isnt that comfortable and if you are jarring it around it can injure the mouth of the horse. Also, (going along with the yanking) if you want the horse to stop, lean back slightly, and make your seat heavier, and THEN lightly bring the reins toward you. and most of all, have a good time!! and think of how jealous i am of you!! ;)

  7. Just relax and enjoy the ride. You will probably be on a horse that knows more than you do so I wouldnt worry about the riding. Horses are most dangerous on the ground in my opinion.

    Watch fingers and feet.

    Don't walk behind the horses

    Don't duck under their neck

Approach slowly and make sure the horse knows your there

Watch ears. Pinned ears are bad.

Just have your friend keep aneye on you and eveything should be good.

    Have fun!

  8. first of all have fun but find out what kind of trail you are going on is it an easy trail or a hard one. has the other person been on it before. how many times has the horse been on that trail. if there is water how is the horse about crossing water. I am sure your friend wouldn't put you on a bad horse or put you in danger these are just a few basic questions to ask on a trip like this on a horse you have never been on before and remember this is a friends horse not a line horse that has been on the same trail 200 times before you get on it and just follow your friend more then likely your horse will just follow the other horse and you wont have to do much other then enjoy the ride
