okay well ive been wearing contacts since august and today in school my left eye got all itchy so i thought maybe it was dry. So i put contact solution on it and it helped for a couple minutes but it keep itching and hurting. Then when i got home i had them in for a while, forgetting about the irritation, but it got worse. So i went to go take them out and my eyes are all puffy and red, so i took the contact out, and put it in solution. So when i took it out it still hurt and itched and it feels like theirs something in there even when i have my glasses on. So what im asking is what should i do??? Maybe go to the eye doctors to get it checked out, or maybe not wear my contacts for a day?? I have no clue, and it hurts really bad, so please help!

  1. Wear your glasses for a while to let your eyes breath. Perhaps there just wasn't enough oxygen reaching your cornea. If it continues for more than a few hours, go to the doctor. You can start with a general practitioner. He or She can should be able to direct you from there.

  2. wear your glasses and go 2 the doctor

  3. It sounds like your eyes are short of oxygen and struggling. However, I believe it's rather more likely to be allergies or you may have an infection since you're not new to them.

You're not meant to wear contacts past their recommended length and washing your hands thoroughly before handling them is always essential.

See your optometrist who will be able to help out.
