  1. A lot of couples are doing that now so the groom is involved.  Have a coed thing, just less girly and more like a family outing or BBQ.

  2. Traditionally, your bridal shower is thrown by a close friend of member of your wedding party.

  3. You may want to change the wording of the shower:

Bridal Shower = Close friends and family, sometimes with a theme -- usually all women and     s

Wedding Shower = can be same as above, often larger and gifts are less personal, more practical (kitchen gadgets, sheets, etc.) -- also all women and     s

Couples Shower or Friends Shower - this is one to invite guys to

Men's Shower - not to be confused with the Bachelor Party -- this one is an opportunity for the groom to get guy gifts and some male bonding to occur.

That being said -- you do what you want -- call it what you want, invite who you want -- it's your wedding/marriage, you set the tone.

    (Congrats and good luck.)

  4. You could definitely do that.  It would be a Jack and Jill bridal shower, and you should talk to your fiance about it first, if he's into it I say go for it.  It sounds like fun, good luck and congrats!

  5. Absolutely...I think it's a great idea.  I don't know why people don't do this more often.  I find the whole bridal shower (girls only) and bachelorette party very old school.  I live in Philly, I just turned 30...we all love hanging out together and I always found it a bit boring and childish (feeling like a tween again) when I have to hang out with only the girls.

Get the table for the guys, poker or what have you..drinks for them and have another area of wherever your having it at for the girls....guaranteed that all  (may it be boyfriend/girlfriend or spouses) will be intermingling with everyone.

It's all about the couple, not only the bride...Good Luck!
