my father doesn't like my boy friend because he is not a christian?

he wants me to have a boyfriend that has the same religion as we have..

he is always telling me to break up with this guy.

please help..what should i do?

I think maybe that's something you have to discuss between the three of you. I don't know how your father thinks, but it might be possible to reach a comprimise, even though he doesn't sound very open-minded.

Tell your father (respectfully) that in life everyone is going to make mistakes. It's best for him to understand that every relationship, no matter how short, is an important learning experience. Who knows, you might learn that you really don't like this guy at all and would actually prefer someone who is christian. Or maybe if you two are serious he will covert. There is no telling what will happen in the future, the best advice is to keep an open mind and always be safe. Don't hate your arents for being overprotective, that's what they are there for. One day you might look back and say that you should have listened to him, but lkessons are best learned in person. Someone can sit and tell you about life all day, but until you actually get out there for yourself, you're not going to know. Good luck ^^
