What should i do? i need a new direction in life?

I'm 42 have no girlfriend,wife, family of my own, ive been working in a job i don't like for 22 years ( plasterer ) ive been trying to change my occupation for at least 15 years. If I'm not happy with my work i cant be happy and success full in my life. Any tips?

First, think carefully about something you would really like to do. Then go back to school and get the education needed to qualify for that work.

You are at an age where the number of single women becomes considerably larger than the number of single men. So be of good cheer, and go out and look for a girlfriend! (School is an excellent place to meet women.)

Since you aren't happy with your life you are the only one who can change it. Nobody else can do that for you. There might be something about that needs to change and I'm sorry you are going through this.

Here are the titles of two book you might want to look at;

"Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway!"

and "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People"

I am sure there are other book on change and success you will find these and other books in the self help section of the book store. Start there it will take you only where you are willing to go.

The only way to change career is continue education. Do find yourself a new career path that you like, and study the subject that will help you get into the new career.

If you have enough money, and have good bank credit (so that you can borrow money from bank), you could find like-minded, while you can trust partners and form a company that hire plasterers, since you have so much experience in this field. Being a boss is so much different than being a worker, you might love being a boss better than being a worker.

For girl friend or wife, you may go for and ad looking for girl friends and potential wife. You may start interviewing them and see if they fits you. Don't feel hurt if you are being rejected or don't feel bad to reject others. It is a fair game after all.

GOD IS THE ANSWER, if u have god in your life, love will come to you, love make things easier, cause even if u dont have the perfect job, imagine gettin home receiving a hug and a kiss and why not dinner ready from the girl u love! that would  make ur day for sure!, try to go to a church and ask god to guide you, and maybe thats also a good place to find a nice girl. ;)

i'm not being sarcastic, that's really sad that you're not happy with your life. i'm only a teenager so i don't know a lot about life, and i don't have any answers but i hope you get some answers. i feel for you man...

maybe you could just do something you like outside of work. how about you go kayaking or mountain climbing?

Education would be good,  You don't have to go get a degree or something but get some life goals for yourself, then break it down into achievable steps and DO each step.

Some steps may require you to make an effort or learn something new.

  Sure can relate bro.. I'm 53, been commercial fishing 30 years. HATE it..Never could keep a family together being gone all the time. Hey.. If ya get any good ideas (opportunities) please let me know .. and I'll do the same for you.. Good Luck..
