What should i do if cat attacks another cat?

my cat was attack by another cat outside and the mystery cat left deep cuts on my cat. should i have him check at vet? hes updated on all shots. he seems fine now but what should i do as far as treatment?

  1. If the other cat drew blood and they are still bleeding, by all means, please get it to the vet asap.  If the cuts are superficial, just leave them alone - do not put human antibiotics on them - they will ingest them.  Cats saliva has natural antibodies in them, and they will keep it cleaned.  Just check them for any puss or anything that just doesn't look "right" - and get the cat to the vet.


  2. It is worth getting him checked over.  My cat had a fight last year and was seemingly ok, then a couple of days later started bleeding.  She had an abscess which had begun to drain and needed pain killing injections and antibiotics.  Better to be safe.
