  1. Did you get hurt?

If not, then who the **** cares, just go on with your life.

  2. Were you injured?  If so, did you suffer a loss of work or medical bills as a result?  Did it cause you such pain and suffering that you lost sleep or had a diminished quality of life?

If not, there would be no grounds for a suit.  Even if you did, can you prove that it happened at that restaurant and that the piece of plate was from their restaurant?  If you answer "no" to any of these, then you have no suit.  Some people think that any little thing like this could be their path to financial independence but the truth is that without some significant suffering or loss, you won't get (nor will you deserve) anything.

What you should have done is immediately shown it to the manager and he probably would have at least comped your meal.

  3. No, you do not have a case against the restaurant. You should have said something at the time of the incident otherwise it is a lost cause.

  4. stop chewing on the plate. That can't be good for you.
