my son did the same thing.  why must they eat such terrible things?  You should call poison control, but they will probably tell you just to keep an eye on him.

I walked into my daughter's bedroom to find her with a mouthful of diaper rash cream which she promptly swallowed.  I called poision control and they said just keep an eye on her but chances were slim she would have a problem.  That was 2 years ago!  don't worry - he's going to be just fine.  But call the local ER or poision control to make yourself feel better.
