What should i do if whenever i turn on my air conditioner it smells like something is on fire inside?

i have central air conditioning and whenever i turn it on i always something burning. i was told by the company that it was the stove but the stove is off when i smell it. one of my cats died and i think it was related to the burning smell any help would be nice

Have an electrician check out the wiring. If he gives the OK, you can put a deodorant pad on the filter to kill the smell.

HVAC Tech.:  Get off the computer And grab up the phone and call a service technician to check it out before you burn down your home!!!!

It sounds like there is a problem with the wiring with the AC, and the company is giving you the run-around. Get a different AC from a different company, and write a letter of complaint to the first guys. Keep a copy for yourself.
