What should i do now ?? i recived a letter from school sayin that i was discharged !! idk what to do now ?

today i got a letter from my high school saying that i was discharged from my school cause i dont have enough credits ( im 17 now) and they said that the amout of credits that i have is for a 10th graders ( i didnt passed ) last year i missed a lot of days becasue i had a family problems

now i dont know what to do ??i recived the transcript( or whatever its called) so does it mean i need to look for a new school????

acctually the letter was sent a month ago but my family went for vacation to Europe i went to school to talk to my councelor but the shcool is closed

i dont know what to do

I would definitely advise you to go to the DOE or at least schedule a meeting with your school and try to appeal.  I'm not completely familiar with your district guidelines, but if you're only 17, a minor, you shouldn't be discharged (even if you're a couple of grades behind).  I would understand if you were 19+, but this doesn't seem right (though I'm sure the school must have been within district-wide guidelines to discharge you).  Try night school or a GED program, if the DOE and school fails you.  Might not be exactly what you wanted, but it's better than dropping out.

  3. Your education does not cease because you are 17 years old. The United States provide a public school education thru grade 12. Take them to court if necessary.
