  1. Ive been a bartender for about 7 years and I love it. You have to be 20 and a day to serve alcohol and that's just being a server. If you want to mix drinks you have to be 21. It is possible to go to school and bartend, but you will have to not party at all. The problem is to make good money you have to work 3rd shift and weekends. You will not have a personal life other than the bar you work at. If you go to school during the day and work at night when will you sleep? You need to decide how important school is at this time in your life. I dont recommend doing this b/c you will end up giving up something after a while and it will be school, b/c its not as fun as bartending is.

  2. Firstly, becoming a general bartender does not really require any major education. Bartending at a chain restaurant, for instance, takes little to know previous bartending knowledge. Bartending school is really for people who intend to work high profile bartending jobs at fancy clubs or resorts where more exotic drinks will be commonly requests.

That being said, bartending school is not a full time thing - it's only a few hours a week - so you could easily enroll in bartending school while going to normal school.
