i really want to focus on my grades this year and i'm taking some pretty challenging classes. what can i do to be sure i maintain my grades? i'm usually an average student (last year i had pretty much all Bs, an occasional A, and only like two Cs the whole year). last year's classes were pretty easy though. (i'm going into being a sophomore in high school) my most challenging class is probably going to be physical earth science. i struggled with Biology last year (i still managed to get all Bs and As as my final grades each semester for this class, though). i feel the only reason i got good grades in that class was because i stayed after to get help a lot and there was a lot of extra credit. (50 point packets each quarter) what can i do this year to keep my grades up?

thanks!

  1. get all your homework done, most teachers count the homework for alot, and then study for every test you have, and pay attention in class.

  2. study?

  3. I think the best way to keep grades up is to not procastinate. It helps to study day by day and actually pay attention in class instead of cramming.

  4. you need to make sure that you study for your tests eat healthy because if you eat bad food you won't considerate properly. and just try your best in everything you can do!!

  5. I would make sure you study for tests, no matter how small, ask for help if you don't understand something, and make sure you get all you're homework done before it's due.

    Good Luck!

And by the way, very nice goal!

  6. dont procrastinate and some times you have to give something up you want to do to study or do homework

  7. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and eat healthy; this will help you stay focused.  AND, there are tutors and teachers for a reason--they're there to help you!  Don't be afraid to ask about something if you don't understand, 'cause chances are you're not the only one who's confused.

  8. Well, for one, you have to make sure you pay attention at all times, and always listen to your teacher. And try not to get side track with boys, popularity, drugs, and stuff like that. Also, always do your homework and  try your hardest! Good Luck!!

  9. The simple answer:  STUDY A TON

  10. do your best, and seriously your best

when your really dreading doing your hw

    push yourself to do it

and study an extra thirty min.

its gonna suck while your doing it

but its gonna be worth it later

  11. As far as my knowledge goes I think studying hard is the only way but Kevin P makes a point here and thats not a negligible option ! Try it and see the results . Hope u top ur class after going topless ! One mishap can be that ur teacher is a female and she's not l***o !!! then cheating can be a way.

  12. To maintain good grades in school makes sure you complete all your assignments/homework, and that they are turned in on time. Usually teachers grade you on if an assignment is completed rather than accuracy. Test, quizzes, and projects are usually the only assignments that are grades on accuracy.  If you need to get extra help, then stay after school. Also whenever extra credit is offered, take it.

  13. study and study hard, try not to procrastinate, suck up to your teachers, ask for any extra credit opportunities, come in the morning or stay after school for extra help if you are struggling, ask questions if you are confused

  14. Well, may be you should do the samething. Ask and stay behind when you struggle with some problems, teachers won't mind for that.

_You should read more books (try to get this habit even if you are not enjoy reading)

_Watch and listen determinely in what your teachers are giving you, (try not to think these advices were too classics, but infact it really work)

_Do homeworks of course, produce the highest standard you could.Time management is essential. If you're given an assignment that's due next week, don't procrastinate; get started the same day you get the assignment

    _Review your notes every night

_Go on the internet or find some sources about the topic you are going to study in the future

    _Always try your best

_Sometimes it's hard to get motivated to make the extra effort. Try setting a goal or incentive for yourself. Take short breaks every so often, perhaps to sit outside for 5 minutes and get some fresh air, or play with a pet or sibling. Anything to relieve some stress.

_Focus on the work you have done not what you have left to do. Doing that will stress you out. Stress is a mental thing. If you just buckle down and do the work, nothing can take that long.

_Doing well in school does not mean that you are not cool. Girls, never act dumb around guys in an attempt to flirt. Many guys find it a turn-off. If the guy finds you intimidating because of your intelligence and good grades-- he is not a keeper. Anyone who makes you feel like you need to be someone you aren't is not the right person for you.

I_f you follow these steps, good grades will come. And with good grades comes happy parents. And with happy parents come a whole lot of things, as many of you already know.

_Finally, remember to leave time for friends and family. Try working with parents and sibling with homework. And if it isn't that distracting, you could even try working on homework with friends too. You could bond over a Saturday spent working a big project. After you have finished your work, maybe treat yourself to some ice cream, or a movie. Learn to balance your social life and your academic life.

_Find a nice study area in your bedroom. Stay away from windows and doors. Those boundaries distract you greatly.

_Making new friends can help since they can help you study and loan you textbooks in case you forget them. They can also be supportive of you when you get bad grades

I wish you could maintain your grades high for all time. These advices work for me, i got all a and a star last year.

  15. Just keep to the assignments, refrain from distracting yourself via bringing iPods, Phones or Magazines to school.

Listen to your teachers, believe it or not, they want the best for you.

Try to do your very best in each task, even if it takes up a lot of time...

Not that i recommend it, but if you just see your classes too challenging for your age, get them replaced.

    : )

  16. study, yes...study... AND.. BLUEBERRIES are brain food.. they HELP You retain what your reading ... they say they are very good to eat the morning of a test, they help you remember what you have already retained. I believe the amount is 1/4 cup a day is the amount to eat... good luck..

  17. You should study and do all your school work.

And you should eats your spinach and you'll be strong to finisch.

  18. make sure that you have enough time after school to focus on your worst subject. if the teacher doesn't tell u about extra credit, u no that u can always ask! try to keep as many destractions away from you.( i'm getting destracted by this question right now, i should be working on my school work. lol) all i know is that as long as u don't do ur best, youll get where u want to go!!

    good luck!!!!!

    p.s.

make sure u get plenty of sleep @ night!!!

  19. sleep with your teachers

  20. STUDY THE BONE DANCE :)

    HANNAH MONTANA AKA MILEY CYRUS

  21. As soon as you get your textbooks, read through them the first night, so you have a basic understanding of each section when you cover it in class.

When you get home from school, do NOT let yourself go on the computer/watch t.v. until you've finished your work.  No matter how bad you want to, don't give in!

    It'll pay off!

  22. After all my years in public schools and then college, from undergraduate all the way through two graduate programs, I learned one immutable fact:  Good grades come from good studying and good homework and good behavior in class.  Any deviation from that standard immediately drops your grades by whatever degree appropriate in that class.  I know that sounds very boring and very simple, but truer words have never been spoken, and I've got decades of schooling to back up my recommendation.  "Buckle down" as they say, and never let up till the final report card is in.  God Bless you.

  23. i think you should pay attention & not get distracted! :) boys usually are the ones who distract me in school. you should also study hard; and if you don'tt know an answer on a test..give it your best shot &&just guess. hehe.

  24. Study and pay attention.

  25. Buckle down, and Eliminate distractions, read every day it helps your brain function and Don't Party too much :) Good luck. p.s. STAY ORGANIZED
