What should i do to make this coin look burnt?

I need to make this coin look burnt on one side, but wont at all effect the other. It also cannot cause the coin to change shape or form in any way. I just want to scar one side. I tried gas but it wouldn't light.

All you have to do is take any lighter, but make sure you hold the coin at the tip of the flame. Otherwise it will just get hot.

What kind of coin? A few years ago I held a nickle over the flame of a candle, and it made that one side black.

If you had a lighter, one of those long ones, you could lay it down on a flat surface and point the flame toward the coin, so it would turn black, and it wouldnt change the shape because its on a flat surface.

btw-dont touch it till it cools. lol
