Oh, and how and when to i get the box? do i just go there with the clothes and they will give me a box?

USPS can provide boxes for shipping by Priority Mail. You have the choice of using a Priority Mail box and pay by weight. You may also use one of the Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, Large or Small, that will be provided at no charge.

The small Flat Rate Box is $38.95 and the Large one is $49.95, regardless of the weight.

Priority Mail boxes also offer tracking and a built in Indemnity coverage to the UK.

If you wish to use a lower service like First Class Mail International, the initial cost may be less but there is no tracking nor Indemnity coverage. If lost, no inquiry may be made. You also need to provide your own packaging materials.

The suggestion to use a box from a liquor store, or any other sort of store, is not a bad one, but doesn't go far enough. If you do use one that has any markings of the previous contents, you must completely obliterate the old markings. It is not sufficient, especially with International Mail, to simply mark an X or scribble over the old markings. You must completely obliterate the markings so as to be completely unreadable.

You need to get a box for yourself, pack it, tape it , address it, and take it to the post office to be weighed and get the postage.  If you need to, you may take the things to a place like Mail Boxes are us...they sell boxes, they will even pack the box and send it for you...for an additional fee.  Actually I think the post office even sells boxes now too.  But you can usually get a box free...liquor stores toss out lots of boxes of small to med. size and will give them to you.
