What should i do to train for Indoor and outdoor track this summer?

I'm a freshman sprinter and I dont know what to do just run miles or do sprints? Please tell me your workouts.

  1. well...their are two types of runners...sprinters and distance runners. so if you do sprints you should practice running faster not longer. do sprint work and just do what you do during practices

  2. You should mix in both

    Day 1 run maybe 2 miles, I'm not sure how fast you are so whatever your comfortable with that will give you a GOOD workout.. around 3 miles. You're not long distance runner so you shouldn't be running liek 5 miles, but you should still be able to go for a nice hard run.

    Day 2 go to a field and do sprints. Maybe about 10 total and rest in between each one for about a minute

    Day 3 rest day / lift weights (leg weights, ab workout, etc)

    Etc.
