What should i do when i get the speeding at school zone ticket?

I didn't know that was shool zone(in Hawaii) and was speeding 20 miles more than the posted speed. Should i just admit to pay for the total or request a hearing to contest the denied infraction in person?

You should pay the fine and slow down!  Those kids you almost hit could have been mine!

You not knowing it was a school zone is not a valid excuse.  And chances are the speed limit surrounding the area wasn't 20 miles higher (so 40 mph?) either.  So just pay the fine and be glad they didn't add on reckless ops (15+ over the speed limit) or anything else.
