  1. PROTECTION DURING EARTHQUAKES

The following are some of the important precaution to be observed to save our life during an earthquake. Even though we do not have fool proof system to fore warn earthquakes some of the changes in nature or in the behaviors of animals and birds may help to decide the situations.

    Before an earthquake.

Have a battery powered radio, flash light, and first aid kids in your house ,

Make sure every one knows where they are kept ,

Lean first aid; teach how to stop electric main and gas supply ,

Don’t keep heavy objects in high shelves ,

Fasten heavy appliances to the floor, and anchor heavy furniture to the walls ,

Plan for your family for reuniting after an earthquake if anybody separated ,

Urge your school teachers to discuss earthquake safety in the class rooms, and ask them to conduct drills ,

Find out your office has an emergency plan, know your responsibility at your works during an emergency .

    During an earthquake.

Stay calm if you are indoors, stay out if you are out of buildings. Many injuries occur as people enter or leave the buildings.

If you are indoors , stand against the a wall near the center of the building, or get under a sturdy table  keep some cushion on your head, Stay away from windows and outside doors, if you are in a high rise building stand against a support column.

If you are in outdoor  stay in the open place , keep away from over head electric wires. and bridges,

Don’t use open flames, if you are in a moving vehicle stop away from over bridges and stay inside the vehicle still earthquake stops.

    After an earthquake.

Check yourself and nearby people for injury, provide first aid,

    Check electric and gas connection,

Turn on your radio or T.V for emergency instructions, reduce the use of phone lines it may be required for conveying some important messages.

    Stay out of damaged buildings,

Wear chapels and gloves to protect against shattered glass and debris.

Stay away from beaches and water front areas where Tsunami could strike, even long after the shaking has stopped.

Have one earthquake alarm installed in your house.

  2. watch 2012  if you are now feeling a earthquake ,  there will be many all over the world ,     DON'T FEEL ALONE.  I felt a earthquake , and my bed went one side to the other side , and I was at least 300 miles away from the site ,  but HEY ,  things are just beginning      " the Quicken -ing "    it is call the end of the world . and a cleaning , not all people will die ,  but we all know we have destroyed the earth and it needs to be cleaned , and I am sure Allah has written it .

  3. just stay in a open area..

  4. DURING THE QUAKE you must do these things:

    When you are Indoors

    Stay inside

DROP, COVER, AND HOLD ON! Move only a few steps to a nearby safe place. Take cover under and hold onto a piece of heavy furniture or stand against an inside wall. Stay indoors until the shaking stops and you're sure it's safe to exit. Stay away from windows and doors.

    Never take an elevator

If you are in bed, hold on, stay there, protect your head with a pillow.

    When you are in Outdoors

Find a clear spot away from buildings, trees, and power lines.

Drop to the ground until the shaking stops.

    When you in a Car

Slow down and drive to a clear place (as described above).

Turn on emergency flashers on and slow to a stop. Do not stop on overpasses, underpasses, or bridges. Be careful of overhead hazards such as power lines or falling building debris.

Turn off the ignition and set the parking brake.

Stay inside the car until the shaking stops.

  5. There is a new report out on earthquakes and how to survive if your caught in a collapsing building, or bridge, get out of your car and curl up in a fetal position behind it, the collapsing bridge will take out your car but leave a triangle shaped wedge where you can survive till help comes, same thing with the bedroom, stay out of the stairwells, don't hide under a desk in school, or a doorway, get out if you can, if not remember to curl up, the man who wrote this submitted this to help save lives, he encountered this over and over again, just remember to curl up by something that will take the punishment but leave a triangle shaped wedge.

  6. Enjoy the sensation.  You'll have stories to tell.

Stay off Yahoo Answers for a while.  Most of the responders are nut jobs or have never been in a quake.

Don't pay attention to doomsayers and take everything on TV with a grain of salt.

If the place really starts shaking (like it's hard to stay balanced), head for the door frame or under a really stout table.  Hallways without hanging hard things and lots of corners are pretty good places.

Big windows should be avoided.  Kitchens are not a nice place to be, in fact, any place with loaded cabinets or stuff hanging on walls is questionable.

My old apartment in the Marina District during Loma Prieta in 1989 had glass and electronics spread across the living room; the kitchen was trashed.  Had anyone been in there...

The worst place I've actually been during a really good quake was in a grocery store (during the Big Bear Quake).  Stuff really flew off the shelves!  Ceiling panels fell, stuff like that.  No sparks or explosions like in the movies though, sorry.

  7. go outside~

  8. You should carefully get outside a soon as possible with no trees, electricity or regular line posts or poles, or tall dangerous things that may cause damage to humans around you. Then stay outside after awhile after the earthquakestops. For about.. 10-20 min. Well it depens on the earthquake if it's big enough to make things heavy and solid move. If so.. than.. you should probably run for your dear life. Na just kidding.
