i am a foreign worker in bermuda and a subscriber of cellular one internet. for the first year, i have been paying B$116 (up to 1 gig which i never exceeded) per month. after a year, monthly charge has increased up to 5 times and even 10 times which means i have to pay more than B$500 to more than B$1000 per month. i have been to the cellular one office. i wanted it to be disconnected but they won't let me unless i settle my account. my total bill as of july 08 totaled to more than B$2000. i can't imagine how this happened. i've never done any uploading and downloading. i was thinking my account has been cloned. i don't have enough money now but even if have, i don't feel like giving away my fortune for nothing.

  1. I'm not really sure how they can charge so much for monthly internet service. You could have cable t/v. + internet for $100/mo with Cable vision of Bermuda However, for starters I would demand an itemized bill and check it for accuracy. It is most likely illegal to raise prices without notification to customers. I certainly wouldn't pay a $2000 internet bill, and until I helped them see the error of their way I would only deal with them via telephone. Being a foreigner they might call the police on you and again being an ex pat worker they might arrest you.

(Bermudians treat ex pat workers as 5th class citizens even though without international business  and workers the island would be a fishing village. Best of luck I hope this helped.
