Question:

What should i do with the egg yolk?

I like to eat eggs after i work out for the protein. But I've read that you should separate the yolk from the whites. Something like.. one whole egg and two whites. If i start doing this, I don't want to just throw the yolk away becuz it's a waste of food. What do you guys recommend i do with it?

  1. Fry both and save the yolk for the next morning.


  2. You could make Tajarin, a pasta that uses entirely egg yolk. If you're using good quality eggs the pasta comes out bright orange and is super rich and delicious. Marcella Hazan's cookbooks have recipes for it, as well as Matt Kramer's book on Piedmontese cuisine. I'm sure you could find others out there as well.

  4. well, what my mom does is she puts the eggs in a small cup and then uses it for egg omelets later. if you don't like just the yolk in the omelet, throw in 1 or 2 extra whole eggs so it wont be as bad.

  7. Both the yolk and the white have protein, but the yolk is where the fat (cholesterol) is.

    If I were you, I would buy a carton of egg whites. That way, you could use I whole egg, and just pour 1/4 of whites from the carton.

    Egg Whites Only are in the dairy section of your supermarket.

  9. Hay you should eat the Yolk for Protein, Yolk is the only protein in egg, Protein is Nil in White, take care.

  10. Doctors are now finding that eating the whole egg is fine, in moderation.  In fact they have determined that people who atre at least 6 eggs per week had a 24% lower risk of developing breast cancer due to the choline in eggs.

    It is no longer enough to count cholesterol, we need to know the type of cholesterol and egg yolks were found to have much healthy fat.

    So keep your intake to 6-8 eggs per week and don't pile the butter or cream or mayo on them and you will be fine.
