  1. Use them to make more aluminum cans then fill them up with more sodas to save money on buying sodas at stores. Or, just take them to the recycling center where you will get about one dollar per pound.

  2. You can also give them to a Shriner in you area.  They donate so much for the tabs to the children's hospitals.

    NOT BOGUS....

  3. Take them to your local recycling center, they will pay you for them. I think the going rate is about $1 a pound now.

Look in the yellow pages or check out their website listed below, put aluminum recycling in the search box

  4. They do have some value for the weight of the 'aluminum' in the tabs...but as far as all these 'collect tabs for charity' it's bogus...they aren't worth anything.

To get money at a recycle center (not a 'can and bottle redemption center' you most likely have to have several hundred pounds-that's the minimum in our area for 'scrap metal'.

If the homeless in your area seem to be collecting them-and you want to 'donate to the cause', then put them in a clear trash bag (so the contents can be seen) and leave them in or on a dumpster where you have seen the homeless scavenging-they'll find them!

If you aren't bothered by confronting one of them, when you see one pushing a cart ask if he/she wants them!

But don't do it with the kids around-they should not get any idea that it is 'okay' to approach strangers!
