What should i do with the virus chest in Avast anti virus?

should i delete it or just let it stay there? i might delete important programs associated with it?

  1. I always delete the chest, have done for years with no problems.

    I guess you can delete the virus chest ....I have done it before and it's ok

  3. You should just delete them after a couple of days.  They're most probably viruses or programs that are infected.

    Anyway if you don't notice these files chested in a protected part of your hard disk, you don't need them!

  4. The reason for the virus chest is to quarantine suspicious files. If your computer has been running fine with those files in the chest, then it tells you that your computer could run just fine if you deleted them.

    Reasons to keep them are:

    1) False positive: You don't think they are a virus, or they are part of a program you use.

    2) Hope to eventually fix: You are waiting for new virus definitions that will eventually be able to fix the file in question.
