My money got stolen from one of those Atms machines of bank of america it was $250 dollars. I made the claim already and they said they were going to deposit the money in my account while they did an investigation. What are my chances in winning this investigation? What else Can I do ? I call customer service and made a claim. Should I go speak with the manager of that bank?

  1. twice a week every dollar in an ATM gets counted. this usually is done on Tue morning before the branch opens and on Thurs night after the branch closes. customer service will e-mail or call the bank branch in question and when the count is done the branch will compare the actual count with what the ATM thinks it should have, if the count is different than the branch will just deposit the cash into your account. its not an uncommon thing for an ATM to get confused. you will probably get your money back.

  2. Each ATM is counted and any overages are recorded.  When you file your claim, the bulk of the research BOA does is to determine if the amount in the claim is the same as the overage amount.  When this is found to be the case, the claim is closed and you keep the temporary credit you were provided during the investigation.  If it is found to be in balance, other steps will be taken to determine what happened with the deposit.  In the case of a 10 dollar claim they should return the money back into your account within 24 hrs so you are not out that money while the investigation continues.  You should know the final findings of the investigation within 3-4 weeks.

  3. Did you write the amount of each deposit on each envelope?  Even if you didn't, the machine should print the amount you enter on each envelope when you feed it in.  Of course they will verify how much was actually in each envelope.

But why didn't you put it all in one envelope?  You didn't feed in loose bills did you?

  4. They will check the count for the machine before deciding to believe you or not.
