  1. Its potassium that you are lacking.  Thats why bananas would be good.  Drink lots of water before a game.  Visit a health food store and see if you can get a supplement.

  2. Pasta will give you lots of energy

  3. You should eat a large sausage and onion pizza by yourself and as many icy Cokes as you can swallow, immediately before taking the field.  If you run even a little you will spend most of the match vomiting.  Everyone will stay away from you-bonus!!  So, no cramps, no injuries.

  4. Eat high carb foods - salad rolls, fruit - avoid eating rubbish because the fat and processed sugar will slow down your performance, leaving you lethargic or crook in the guts.

Eat two hours before you play, no closer to game time.  And then eat within twenty minutes of finishing the game.  If your cramping after the game, then drink some gatorade.  I know it says on the bottle to drink before and during competition, but water is the best thing, not gatorade beforehand.

Cramping is usually a sign of dehydration.  You need to "water load" during the week.  So this means having a bottle of water with you so you can sip it all day through the week to fill your tissues up with fluid.  If you wait until game day, it's too late.  I know that means you'll feel like your constantly at the toilet, but if you're cramping badly when competing, it's probably more dehydration than your muscles needing to replenish the glycogen they've used during exercise.

Eating and hydrating is just as important for training nights.

By the way, hydrating with beer or other alcohol, sort of defeats the purpose!  Nothing wrong with having a beer after the game, but water and gatorade first, then wait an hour before the good stuff, and don't over indulge. Hopefully this answers your question.

  5. eat your c**p

  6. footy pie

  7. You could try pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds which are high in magnesium.  I think it's lack of magnesium that gives you cramps.

  8. Bananas are your best bet right before the game. Also if you go to a wallmart they have special pills to cut down cramping it really worked for me give it a shot. Good luck
