  1. try an apple. maybe water.

  2. Sugary or fatty items will make you feel sluggish in the afternoon, both physically and mentally.  So stick with whole grains and some protein for energy.  Calcium and vit. D are important at your age so dairy-based foods are good choices.  Then add veggies or fruit for variety in color and flavors, and to balance it all out.

Keep it simple.  It's easy to pack things like a whole grain muffin, crackers or a bagel.  Then make or buy a dip, topping, or sandwich filling that includes things like peanut butter, or cooked chicken, tuna, cream cheese, hummus, etc.  Add some nuts on the side, or boxed raisins.  And how about yogurt with real fruit--add your own stir-ins.  Or grapes, a banana, or some strawberries.  And cinnamon is a brain-powering spice which you can sprinkle onto a little cup of applesauce.  And keep handy some breath mints that advertise an ingredient that 'kills germs' or 'bacteria'.

  3. You should probably just take some egg noodles and a salad. Cold noodles are good with sauce and soupy noodles are good hot. Either that or take a pepperjack cheese sandwich with a few tomatoes. Or some chilled rice and chopped carrots. If you don't have the time just pack any simple sandwich or a simple salad and eat it when you need to. You could just take a nut bar, but salad is good, and noodles are healthy if you make them fresh and sweet.

    Try eggs. They're yummy.

  4. How about something like some cut-up fresh fruit and a muffin....or

some veggies and dip and some nice crackers?

  5. Peanut butter and jelly or some sort of lunch meat sandwich that won't make your breath stink.  Fruit doesn't smell bad (apple, grapes, bananas).  Yogurt is a good idea.  For desert, eat something minty like a peppermint patty.

  6. Bring whatever you like. If its bad breath your worried about have gum after each lunch or a mint etc. If not you could try things like sandwiches or a bagel. Basic things like that.

  7. Fruit, veggies and dip (you can get small containers at most grocery stores) Tortilla wraps, crackers.
