What should i expect from my first day of college?

i start the 25th, and i have no idea what to expect frankly its kinda freaking me out. i have eng 101, calc, painting, and piano. Like should i bring a bag? or i dont even know will they lecture on the first day?

In my experience, some professors will go over the syllabus for 20 minutes and then let you leave, some will go over the syllabus for an hour (BORING) and then let you leave, and others will go over the syllabus and then start lecturing and keep you there the whole time.

I start Monday as well. I'll be bringing my bookbag. I usually bring my book/s on the first day to make sure I have the right one/s for that class. I have paper with me to write notes (if needed), and my binder to keep the syllubi in.

If you have a chance today, I suggest going around the campus and getting familiar with where your classes are. That way you're not late to class because you got lost (but don't be embarassed if you are a bit late; I don't remember a class I went to and at least someone wasn't late on the first day).

Just remember, you are not the only one that's nervous and freaking out. There will be so many others that are new to the territory as you are, and they have no idea what they're doing either. Some of the best advice ever given to me was, "pretend like you know what you're doing."  Do that and the nervousness will reside a bit.

Well, all freshmen start off with orientation and things to get to know each other. Just think, a quarter of the student population will be just like you (Nervous and... some nauseous). Classes start about a day or two after everyone gets settled in. Just focus on making friends and getting all your financial information in order (don't forget unpacking).

Have fun! This will be a great time for you! Your course load sounds smooth enough for a liberal arts major ;)

Just need something to take notes and a folder to put handouts. I doubt much/any lecturing will go on. You will be fine, just make sure you know how to get to the classes on time.

you will probably want a backpack for your books, yeah there probably will be lecture the first day. You should recieve a syllabus,which is basically detailled instructions for the class, how the grade is computed, and all other important points.
