  1. well meetings are like about what will be happening and all that but meetings differ from each one.You do not always meet at an arena for one thing durring winter my 4H club meets in the fire house.Shows well first there is district you must get a red ribbon to continue onto state and ya.Just listen and learn and talk relax its fun TRUST ME!

  2. just about everything. you plan shows and field trips, leadership activities, everything. you can meet any where, we used to meet at a library, but know we meet at some ones property b/c he has a 2 story barn and lets our group use the 2nd floor. thde shows are pretty much the same as any other show, there are just stricter rules. like right shoes, your bit has to be 4-h legal, you have to have a helmet whenever you are on a horse and in halter classes ect.... i have a lot of fun in my group, you go to alot of cool places. like in the end of june we went to cumberland island in georgia. This is were they have wild horses running around every where on the island, then we walked to te beaces on the island and swam. then we walked back to the dock and had lunch then took the farry home. you also meet a lot of people. yes you use your own horse. and it doesn't matter what level your on and how old your horse is.

  3. Depends on your expectations.  You will set goals to reach for the end of the 4-H season and the shows will have a variety of showmanship/horsemanship events like reigning, western pleasure. English, bareback, ect....

  4. A Horse 4H club is the same as any other club when it comes to meetings, my club has a president, treasurer, and all that other stuff. We discuss things, organize more things and vote about things, i.e. We need this and this, what type of fundraiser should we have this time? Or, what should we spend the money we earned with our last fundraiser on? And then the occasional safety discussion.

My club meets in the mornings at a farm, its a small little place, with only one, outdoor, arena. And our classes are separated by the riders level, not the horses age. As soon as we get there we immediately start getting ready, catch, groom, and tack up our horses. A leader(s) should be there  first, so If you need any help at all their there to help.

Then its time for the lesson, the fun part!

The shows are optional, I've actually never been to one, and whoever is going needs to find someone to trailer their horse, and get everything in order, you'd need a dress outfit and a bunch of other things to get your horse ready, exercises and leg wraps and such. Your leaders will be able to help you out with all that too.

    Good luck! ^__^

  5. Woahh! Just relax a bit!

Ok, I'll try to answer all your questions. And remember that it does tend to vary a bit from club to club.

"What do the meetings have to do with horses??"

Well say you're learned about something like horse conformation, You and your project memebrs might go outside and play a quiz game or something to lable to parts of a horse, or you might stick little tags to the hose to label the parts of a horse! Lol, That's what I did in my first year!

Or you might have a presentation from a farrier or something if you're learning about feet, you'll probably visit shows and have field trips and stuff too! It's always different!

"Do you meet at an arena?"

That completley depends on your club. Noramlly our club will meet at somebody's acredge if its jsut a regular project meeting. If we're doing riding or having a presentation we usually meet at the barn or an arena. Sometimes we go on little field trips and meet at the designated place though,

    "How do the shows work?"

That varies quite a bit. Talk to your Project leader about this question.

    EDIT:

"How does it work if everyone is a differnent level and if the horses are different ages?"

In my club we all get together then the project members seperate into little groups according to projects if we're correcting stuff in our books or learning about different things.

For the presentations and stuff we're usually all together though so we can all be together to learn.

Normally you ride your own horse for 4H things. If you don't have your own lots of people share horses with their friends or borrow one. Age isn't really a concern in our club as all the horses are mature and well broke.

"My horse has never done much of any of those disciplines. do they teach you how to do them?"

You guys will get together and learn together usually, It's ok if you don't know how to do the disciplin, they'll probably teach you the basics. If you're really concerned you can take a few lessons from somebody to get basics down and stuff.

Do you use their horse or yours?

If you have your own horse you'll use yours.

If you don't have your own horse it will vary from club to club what happens.

In our club some of us have to share horses and take turns with them when we ride and stuff. And then you do your Record Book on the horse your borrowing and such.

xD I hope you liked my answer! I worked hard on it, lol!
